Dr Jason Ooi

MBBS (Hons) FRACS( Urology)

Jason graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1995 with honours. He served his residency and completed 2 years of Advanced General Surgery training at Austin Health. He was awarded his Urology Fellowship in 2004 after 3 years of Advanced Urology training in Melbourne. He worked in Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia and Royal Surrey County hospital, United Kingdom from 2005-2006 to advance his interests in Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and Uro-oncology. He undertook Advance Laparoscopy courses in Paris. He has also traveled to USA for Da Vinci Robotic system training in California and Prostate Cancer Brachytherapy treatment in Seattle.

He has been a Consultant Urologist since December 2006, working at Western Health, Epworth Freemasons, St Vincents Private and Western Private hospitals. He has done over 500 laparoscopic prostate and renal tract operations. He participates regularly in multidisciplinary meetings, unit research activities and was a supervisor of urology training at Western Health for 6 years. He is a regular instructor facilitating Minor Surgery courses for General Practitioners and Laparoscopic courses for Urology trainees at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has presented at local, national and international conferences with numerous research publications.

He is a member of Urological Society of Australia & New Zealand, European Association of Urology and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
